Why moisture shows up in Idaho garages
New slabs still releasing water, older floors with no vapor retarder, irrigation-adjacent lots, and river-corridor homes (think Garden City) can push vapor through concrete. Trapping that under an impermeable film risks blisters and peel — regardless of flake color.
What we look for
- Age of the pour and any known curing compound
- Visible damp, efflorescence, or prior coating failures
- Low spots that hold melt or wash water
- Basement/garage combinations with different moisture stories
New builds
Fresh Meridian and Kuna slabs need adequate cure time plus sealer removal. Rush coating is a common DIY failure — DIY vs pro.

Active moisture issues get an honest “not yet.” That’s better than a pretty floor that fails in months.
