Garage Epoxy Cost in Boise & the Treasure Valley
Homeowners ask about price first — and the honest answer is that prep and chemistry matter more than a single square-foot number. Here’s how we think about cost, process, and timing before you request a quote.
Pricing factors
What usually moves the number
Square footage
Two-car vs three-car vs shop bay changes material and labor. Measure wall-to-wall, including any alcoves.
Prep & repairs
Grinding off sealer, filling cracks, and moisture mitigation can outweigh the resin cost on older Bench or Canyon County slabs.
System choice
Standard epoxy flake, polyaspartic topcoats, metallics, and quartz builds sit at different price bands — and different return-to-service windows.
Our process (high level)
1. Understand the slab
Photos, ZIP, size, and known issues (peeling paint, dampness, oil). We’ll ask about sealer and how you use the garage.
2. Prep before gloss
Mechanical grind, repairs, and moisture checks as needed. This step is where long-term adhesion is won or lost.
3. Coat & topcoat
Base, flake broadcast if chosen, then clear topcoat. Cure time depends on chemistry and garage temperature.
4. Return to service
We’ll give a written window for foot traffic and parking. Rushing hot tires onto soft resin is a common DIY failure.
When coating makes sense
Good moments: cured new slabs, post-remodel staging, pre-listing, or after you’ve cleared storage so prep can reach the whole floor. Reasons to pause: active moisture problems, untested sealer with a rushed timeline, or days when vehicles can’t stay out during cure.
We serve Meridian, Nampa, Eagle, Caldwell, and greater Boise — see the service area and coating options.
Cost & process FAQs
How much does garage epoxy cost in Boise?
It depends on square footage, prep (grinding, crack repair, moisture work), and system (epoxy vs polyaspartic, flake vs metallic). We quote from your slab details — not a one-line menu price.

When do homeowners usually need epoxy?
Oil stains, peeling DIY coatings, melt-season mess, remodeled homes that make the garage look unfinished, or listing prep.

Our services page lists the ranges we use for Treasure Valley budgeting, and the final number always follows an inspection.
Why the ranges are so wide
The guides do not all mean the same thing by "epoxy." A thin, water-based roll-on coat is cheap. A ground, multi-coat system with a full flake broadcast and a polyaspartic clear is not. HomeGuide lists water-based epoxy lasting about 3 to 5 years and solid epoxy about 10 to 20 years, which explains much of the spread.
What moves the number on Treasure Valley slabs
Size
Measure wall to wall, including alcoves, steps, and the apron if you want it coated. Many Meridian, Kuna, and Star subdivisions have three-car garages; older homes on the Boise Bench and in Nampa often have one- or two-car garages.
Prep
Diamond grinding is the step that makes a coating stick, and it is a large share of labor. Slabs with builder sealer, old paint, peeling DIY kits, or scaled surfaces from years of de-icer take longer. See floor prep.
Cracks and repairs
Hairline cracks are routine. Wide or uneven cracks, spalled joints, and pitted areas near the door need more work.
Moisture
Slabs with moisture issues may need testing and a moisture-mitigating primer. See concrete moisture.
System
Basic epoxy, epoxy with flake, polyaspartic topcoats, full polyaspartic, and metallics sit at different price points. See polyaspartic vs epoxy.
Oil stains
Deep oil stains need degreasing and extra grinding. See oil stains.
Budget examples
These use the published ranges above. They are illustrations, not quotes.
- Two-car garage in Meridian, 480 sq ft, epoxy with flake: HomeGuide's $4 to $10 epoxy range plus $0.50 to $2.00 for flake gives roughly $2,160 to $5,760.
- Three-car garage in Eagle, 720 sq ft, polyaspartic: HomeGuide's $5 to $12 range gives roughly $3,600 to $8,640.
- One-car garage on the Bench with old peeling paint: expect the upper part of the range because of extra grinding.
What to compare in quotes
- Is the floor diamond ground, or only etched?
- How many coats, and what thickness?
- Which product for the base and topcoat?
- Are crack repair and moisture testing included?
- How long until you can walk and park on it?
- What does the warranty cover?
